It’s been a while since I updated everyone on the projects I’m involved in since moving to Burbank, CA. Have no fear, Ace Fontana is still here!
Since leaving that facial-hair-monikered band in July 2018, I have had the great pleasure of performing with several old and new projects.
San Francisco Bay Area Shows
I’m performing a once a month show with the Diablo Dukes at Johnny Foley’s Irish House billed as “Ace Fontana and the Dukes.” This project is looking to expand our bookings to weddings, other clubs, and corporate events. We play classic rock, some current favorites, and some great soul tunes. Follow Ace Fontana on BandsinTown to get notified of our next performance.
I’ve also been travelling back to the San Francisco Bay Area for performances with West Grand Blvd. It’s a bit like going home again, as I was the primary lead vocalist for this group for several years. WGB plays some of the best classic soul, MoTown, and R&B hits ever recorded.
There’s also been a sighting of me with a group simply called “Fontana” that throws down some mighty 80’s pop and new wave hits. Fontana reunites some members of a long ago project known as Total Eclipse.
Greater Los Angeles Shows
Closer to my new home in Burbank, I’ve been super busy networking and meeting some fantastic musicians who have played with some heavy hitters.
I’m putting together an amazing concept band called Big Top, that throws out some amazing mashups of classic rock and new pop songs, as well as reinventions of familiar standards.
I’ve taken over the lead vocals and have begun working on some original material with Crave and Wonder. The band mixes Americana with Rock and we will begin releasing some new material very soon.
Ace Fontana just can’t forget about his Yacht Rock roots, so you can often find me leading shows with Members Only Yacht Club. All the YR hits you know and love are on board, just waiting for you.
Occasionally, I like to tease my hair and empty a can (or two) of AquaNet and sit in with The Young Guns, one of the finest Los Angeles 80’s tributes around.
AND, as if I don’t have enough going on, I’m involved in a new as-yet-unnamed TOTO tribute band. We’ll be blessing the rains down in Africa and Holding the Line in a club near you soon. More to come on this project, I promise.
Suggestions for a good name for this project are welcome!
So while, I may have been quiet on the social front lately, things are definitely happening behind the scenes. Be sure to like my Facebook page, follow me on Twitter and Instagram and you’ll be the first to know what’s happening in the crazy musical life of Ace Fontana.
